Opportunity 

Collaborating with a financial company specialized in Crypto that had multiple Scrum Teams working on the same product, dependencies were the daily challenge.

There was not a single initiative and mid-big size feature development in which 2 or 3 teams were required to work together. No matter how technical expert and agile-matured these teams were, at some point of the development journey a technical dependency arose jeopárdizing the whole project. This uncomfortable situation demanded many efforts to be paused waiting for that dependency to be solved, resulting in a waste of resources, time and money.

Solution 

As learned from many others scaled agile solutions that we were part of, involving the tech voices in the very early stages of a new coming feature is as crucial as the product experts. They have the ability to detect technical challenges and dependencies within the Scrum Teams even before starting coding it.

For this reason we introduced the Cross Teams Refinements. These events were held as soon as a new initiative was born, gathering product and tech experts in the same room, so to high-level define the implementation roadmap and identify the potential technical difficulties and dependencies early in the process.
